BISMI REVIEWS :: The Herald Sun - Sunday Magazine
Eating out with Sally Fisher - Sunday magazine, Herald Sun May'03 Standing in the window of this blink-and-you'll-miss-it shop front is a guy with a wrist breaking backhand flipping hot stuff on a stainless steel hotplate. If this was anywhere but Sydney road he'd be doing burgers or snags. But he's making roti, the flaky Indian bread that in Malaysia always comes with a small bowl of curry & makes a delicious lunch. You can buy curries here, or get your roti stuffed with caramelized onions and mustard seeds($2), egg ($2.50). a mix of potatoes, peas, garlic and herbs ( $3.50) or plain ($1.50). These are tables and chairs but there you can't see the roti show. If you wait for a take away the view is good. But you'll probably eat it all on the way home.
